Trains roll again after derailment near Prewitt

Reported wreck near Prewitt halted traffic for over a day as crews repaired tracks. Burlington Northern official Jerry Jenkins said two main lines were back in service by 3 p.m. Monday, with 12 to 20 trains awaiting clearance between Gallup and Albuquerque. Naschitti man held after officer struck by spray

Henderson Wilson 25 was arrested after police say he assaulted officers including Gallup officer Rachelle Begay who treated for neck pains. Wilson climbed into a pickup driven by his mother, refused detainment, cursed officials, and punched Begay after spitting on another officer. He was booked on two felony counts of battery on a police officer and related charges.

Prisoner assaults jail guard at McKinley Center

Gallup police report a 20 year old inmate Anthony Martinez also known as Lil Bandit faces predawn assault and battery charges after he and inmate Jason Seinz were being returned to cells. Martinez allegedly cursed and accused Seinz of being a rat prompting a confrontation between inmates and corrections officers Wednesday afternoon.

Native American quilts on view in Santa Fe exhibit
