Navajo Nation seeks $5 million for power line projects
The Navajo Nation asked HUD for 5 million to fund 13 power line projects across New Mexico Arizona and Utah potentially delivering electricity to 386 households in communities including Birdsprings Indian Wells Forest Lake Wide Runs Chinbe to Nazlini Tsaile Wheatfields Steamboat Inscription House Burnham Cove Counselor and on Water. If funded, construction would be subcontracted to Navajo Tribal Utility Authority Utah Power and Light and Jemez Electric. HUD funding decisions expected by mid November.
