Ex Navajo ex-finance director indicted in fraud case
Thomas J. Meier, a former Navajo tribal finance director, was indicted on 26 charges alleging he schemed to defraud the tribe. The indictment says he directed $9.5 million in insurance annuity purchases and earned $130,750 from policy sellers, with deals dated August 1987 to May 1989.
