Careage Corporation of Washington has begun construction on a 100-bed nursing home east of Gallup. The facility will include a physical therapy unit an occupational therapy work center and an arts and crafts room. A cafeteria will serve meals and bedridden residents will be catered to in their rooms. The building will feature lawns and patios for outdoor gathering. Project manager Tom Reese said delays were due to a search.

A check for 84036 will fund over 1 million in Navajo student programs in the Gallup McKinley County School District. Johnson O Malley Navajo analyst Leroy Harrison said the money will be mailed today after delays. Gallup officials were unaware amid Albuquerque teachers conference and offices closing. The JOM Navajo program was delayed as funds missed the contract deadline October 1 leaving staff jobless and students with fewer offerings.
