Anti relocation forces gather at Cactus Valley conference
Several hundred Navajos attend a two day conference at Cactus Valley Arizona where Hopi traditionalists led by Thomas Benyacaya oppose forced relocation from the Joint Use area. Benyacaya charges land disputes are government driven to access coal and uranium resources. Navajo Chairman Peter MacDonald praises the event as a beginning of a people to people campaign.
