The Navajo Nation Council met in a subdued session after criminal summonses were served to several delegates and Chief Legislative Counsel Frank Seanez was disbarred by the Nation's Supreme Court on the final day of the council's last regular session.
Freddie Gray, commander, laments the worst turnout of riders for the Jesse Ly Finley VFW Post 3321 benefit run in Cibola County. The event raised about 1600 dollars for the Pam Woods Coats for Kids drive, with a silent auction of gift certificates and donated items. District Court Judge Allen Sloan explains why Shirley failed to block the November referendum on the Navajo Nation judiciary restructuring. Volunteers locating Richards rifle, cap, and backpack in mile canyon after a daylong search, though terrain was steep and bushy, hindering visibility.
Gallup Police and McKinley County Sheriff's Office traced two suspects after a reported robbery in progress at Gilbert Ortega's complex on Historic Highway 66. Witnesses described a heavyset Native American man in a white shirt, black pants and backward cap. surveillance video aided the pursuit to a beige pickup on Coyote Canyon Drive before it ended due to jurisdiction.
