McKinley County sheriff's investigator Ron Saavedra reports a new check scam hitting Crownpoint uses stolen RB Associates Inc fictionalized checks with genuine company and bank details and an authorized signature. Perps wash stolen checks onto new stock, mail them via phone book and directories, and promise the recipient a cut of cash under Canadian addresses, sometimes sending more later.
