Tuba City High School chess team undefeated in region
Tuba City Arizona reports its high school chess team won the Northern Arizona Region 1 championships in Kingman with a 12-0 record. Seven teams competed including Leupp. runner up was Kingman High, third Mohave High, fourth Monument Valley High. Tuba City advances to the state tournament November 17 18 in Tuba City along with Monument Valley and Kingman. Junior varsity players Jonas Jensen Lorene Yazzie and Shawn Bedonie each went 2 0.
