Marchers rally to condemn Navajo Nation violence
Window Rock Arizona marchers from the Fort Defiance Task Force protested growing gang violence. Led by four women from Fort Defiance, the group marched two miles circling the President's Office and old BIA complex to a tribal council rally. Mitakuye Oyacin drum accompanied them as Lead Singer Bob Eagleman urged unity and tradition to heal youth.

Pilot error key cause of Zuni F-117 crash report
An Air Force investigation concludes pilot disorientation caused the F-117 Nighthawk crash near Zuni Pueblo on May 10. Capt. Kenneth W. Levens did not eject. the report notes absence of an installed Aural Warning System that might have prevented the tragedy. The 800-page study, released Sept. 20, led by Lt. Col. Steven E. Barach, details flight from Holloman AFB to test bomb sights and cameras before returning.
