Council to review wastewater plant report

Gallup City Council will hear the annual report from Severn Trent Services, which manages the wastewater plant. Navajo Proposes Regulation of Uranium Ore Transport

A Navajo Nation Law and Order Committee approved a resolution opposing uranium ore and product transport across Navajo land with an exception for legacy waste to off-site disposal. Sponsored by Delegate Duane Tsinigine the measure would amend the Navajo Nation Code to regulate non Navajos on public rights of way.

Navajo Veterans Affairs Hearing On Status Change

Window Rock reports Navajo Nation veterans may vote on a Veterans Act and decide if the Veterans Affairs Department should become an enterprise or a new division. Hearing dates are set for October with community input welcome. The department now runs eight staff from a trailer at a cost around 1.5 million annually. A division would double the budget to about 3 million, plus an estimated 2.4 million for a new building. Shelly and Nez support funding the operation.

Southwest Mobile opens new store at Rio West Mall

Incident Report on Suspected Alcohol Impairment
