It was Oct 3 2007 and she wasn’t sharing bowling information or a joke. She was sharing about her personal journey and a message for the 35 women in her weekly league. Three months earlier, on July 3, McKinney had undergone her annual mammogram, routine for a woman who does self checks and keeps regular screenings. Now on Oct 3 she started her first radiation treatment for breast cancer.
In a local effort tied to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Monica Greene of Mr. Teez shop prints pink ribbon logos on T shirts for a fundraising drive to promote breast cancer screening.
