Two Riders Injured in Gallup Accidents
Gallup police report two separate Saturday crashes injuring Andres Tovar 25 of Pinedale and Rudy Romero 21 of 501 W Wilson St. Tovar, riding a motorcycle, collided with a car driven by Carol Williams 33 near Aztec Ave and Viro Circle at about 10:20 a.m. He suffered a broken left leg and was treated at McKinley General Hospital. Williams was uninjured. Romero rode in a vehicle that overturned near Maloney Ave and Ninth St around 2 a.m. as the driver tried to avoid a collision with an unidentified vehicle.

In Raleigh a Colombian gunman who held an Amtrak sleeping car for three days released a 34 year old girl and surrendered after an FBI agent and a godfather figure coaxed him. The gunman Evangelista Navas Rodriguez 20 identified as Mario Rodriguez had sister Isabel Ramirez and her infant son John both dead. He faces two counts of first degree murder and kidnapping.
