Scattered rain continues with temperatures recorded at the Gallup Independent office 500 N Ninth St. Yesterday's high reached 66 at 2 35 pm and the low 36 at 6 15 am.
State Finance Secretary Dan Topez told the Legislative Finance Committee on Wednesday that New Mexico faces a 60 million revenue shortfall this fiscal year ending June 30 and, with no growth, a 134 million gap next year. Governor Tony Anaya will urge the 1986 Legislature to consider proposals to cover the shortfall.

The College of Ganado named Robert Johns of Long Island New York as permanent president by November 1 after a national search. Johns was chosen from 35 candidates by a unanimous Board of Regents vote, with the college operating under acting president Dr Robert MacVicar since January.
