Average farm size 31.99 acres, average farm value $465,995. 1964 farm product sales totaled $1,941,804, with crops at $53,877 and livestock at $1,881,427. The FBI joined state investigators to probe potential voting machine rigging in five New Mexico counties ahead of the May 3 primary. Spokeswoman Mrs. Jay Threlkeld says thousands have been notified and demand cheaper groceries. Miller's vice president Hittson says price rises pass to consumers if costs rise. Safeway manager says a committee met with the group for 2 1/2 hours and distributed a food industry newsletter.

Workers return to Chrysler plants in the United States and Canada after a Twinsburg Ohio strike over working conditions ends. Chrysler announces full production at six U.S. plants will restart, with Windsor Ontario to follow, while GM plant talks continue with Local 93 in Kansas City and St Louis. About 42,600 Chrysler hourly workers were laid off during the week-long walkout.

U S B52s pounded North Viet Nam just above the demilitarized zone while U S and allied forces pressed Operation Irving near the central coast. Airmobile troops burned a Viet Cong hamlet near Qui Nhon and paratroopers clashed south of the DMZ with about 1 500 North Vietnamese troops. An official said 200 NVA were killed and South Vietnamese casualties were moderate. Seven miles north of the DMZ US B52s attacked storage areas and bivouac sites used for infiltration.

Carre Parish said a $130 record player vanished from a trailer around Sept. 20. Leon Woody jailed for vandalism after sleeping in a pickup at the Commercial Hotel. A $2.25 fraudulent check used to buy a hat was cashed by two youths under Dennis Dominguez and J D Elkins signatures.

Mr. and Mrs. Sid Davis celebrate their 76th wedding anniversary with family at their small Hoopeston area home. The couple and extended clan include two daughters, two sons, 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. Davis once ran a 1300 acre farm near Oxford, Illinois, later another farm near Hoopeston, retired in 1938, and now lives in an eastern Illinois town of about 800 residents. he is 97 and his wife 94.
