Man jailed after Hopi shooting at Oraibi entrance

An Alabama man, James Cicero Huckaby II, 23, was jailed in Flagstaff after firing a high caliber rifle at two Hopi men outside Oraibi on the Hopi Reservation. Hopi and Navajo police pursued a vehicle to Tuba City. Huckaby is held in Coconino County Jail.

WWII comrades reunite after 55 years in New Mexico town

Baltazar Avila of Raton and Albert Begay of Gallup, World War II veterans from Company L, 111th Infantry, finally met at Begay’s home after about 55 years apart. They recalled battles on Gilbert, Marshall and Mariana islands, shared photos and family news, and spoke of fellow soldiers while noting the war’s harsh memories.

Police Probe Attempted Robbery Near Kayenta

Navajo police investigate an attempted strong armed robbery at an isolated restaurant west of Kayenta.
