Area man dies on State Road 57
A 21 year old Thoreau man, Russell Ledingham, died after a collision on State Road 57 near the Baptist Church. He was pronounced dead at 7:45 pm at O Rehoboth McKinley Christian Hospital. A 17 year old Thoreau girl, Heather Wilson, drove a van westbound and turned left. The crash occurred at 6:59 pm. Enforcement action is pending. Also, Francis Bahe, 33, of Piñon, Arizona, was arrested for assault and battery after allegedly grabbing another male in a pickup cab and pulling him out.
