Bonito Arrests After Alleged Kidnapping and Battery
Two men identified as Wayne Gail, 30, and Kevin Hoskie, 27, both of Fort Defiance, were arrested on charges of kidnapping aggravated battery conspiracy and false imprisonment after an alleged attack on a man who was taunted for being gay. The suspects forced him to drive to Sagebrush Liquors for alcohol, and a New Mexico State Police officer reported the blue Chevrolet truck stopping at milepost 10 on Highway 264 Wednesday evening. The driver, who recognized one assailant as a high school classmate, claimed the injured man was held captive by all three men.

Navajo water rights pact debated by Window Rock Council
The Navajo Nation Council weighed the Northeastern Arizona water rights settlement and the risk the document sent to the president might differ from the version Council approved.
