Teen’s farewell texts reveal despair before fatal freight collision
An 18 year old from Twin Lakes left a trail of suicide messages to a friend identified as Peace Skate before stepping onto a westbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight near the Allsup’s on Historic Route 66. The teen’s cell phone lay between the rails as the train halted. Peace Skate urged him to stop while Franklin insisted he would not.

District faces shortfall amid deteriorating facilities
