Colorado couple rescued after RV stuck in Zuni Mountains
Gary Thompson and June Thompson, both in their 100s, were found alive by Grants resident Tony Mare after their RV became stuck in mud near Zuni Canyon Road. They had been missing since March 6 and were evacuated by PHI helicopter due to June’s emphysema requiring oxygen. Daughters in Michigan and Georgia prepared to fly to Albuquerque. the couple had been traveling from Phoenix to visit a friend with cancer.

Probationer accused of aggravated assault in Mentmore incident
Unidentified man allegedly attacked a Mentmore resident Friday night, slamming her head with a closed fist, choking, and pulling hair. The victim, battered and frightened, fled to a neighbor’s home on Hazel Drive. Police later arrested Singer at 633 Mazel Drive, charging him with aggravated assault on a household member and possession of drug paraphernalia. The victim suffered a broken nose.
