Tragic Route 66 Crash Kills Parents in Gallup
Police say a drunken driver ran a red light at Historic Route 66 and Boardman Drive striking a Ford pickup and triggering a multi-vehicle crash. Ray Hobb and his wife Christine, both of Navajo, N.M., died at the scene. their 8 month old daughter Shasawa was reported in serious condition at UNM Hospital in Albuquerque. The driver, Johnny Caballero, 30, sped to avoid a traffic stop, driving a 1988 GMC pickup and causing fatal injuries to the Ford’s driver and adult passenger. A second vehicle, a 1993 Pontiac, was also struck. its driver Amanda Hauser, 23, and her 18 month old son Angelo were hospitalized. Police report ongoing investigation.
