Navajo Code Talker G I Joe honors heroic veterans
Hasbro released a G I Joe figure that speaks Navajo phrases used by Code Talkers in World War I and II. The toy includes a history of the Navajo code talkers and will donate 5000 dollars to the Navajo Code Talkers Association and provide a G I Joe to each of about 150 surviving Code Talkers.

Hogback men plead guilty to sex charges
In Gallup a Hogback man named Rufus Billy pleaded guilty in federal court to aggravated sexual abuse of a child. A judge sentenced him to eight years in prison and five years of probation for acts involving an eight year old during the summer of 1998. The plea cover additional sexual acts and intent to humiliate and arouse the victim. FBI investigators traced the incidents to a relative complaint. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kathleen Bliss filed and prosecuted the case.

Navajo Chapter Pay Raise Vote Fails to Clear Deck
