Fossil Hunt Near Farmington Reveals Dinosaurs in New Mexico
Paleontologists led by Don Wolberg study a 4.25 square mile tract northeast of White Rock, 40 miles south of Farmington, where 72 to 73 million year old fossils unfold. Finds include two probable dinosaurs, a sauropod like brontosaur and a duck billed hadrosaur, plus skin impressions and a theropod. Remains will be cleaned, studied, and stored at Socorro's New Mexico Tech, with field work continuing through October 1984.
