German artist Peter Handeland, a Window Rock High School teacher and UNM Gallup lecturer, started painting two years ago after doodling. He pursued art after realizing his potential, painting in the evenings as students urged him to focus on art rather than teaching. His abstract modern work aims to make a difference in others’ lives.
