Nothing settled in Gallup power rate case

Gallup and Public Service Company of New Mexico met in Washington for a FERC settlement conference but city attorney James Parmelee said no agreement was reached. The eight year dispute centers on PNM rate increases and a fixed rate contract through 1993. A July 25 ruling on a procedural matter and an August 31 settlement conference are planned as data and opinions evolve. In the meantime Gallup’s rates remain on hold during the appeal.
