Bicyclist 10 Injured in Gallup Collision With Car
A Gallup resident 10 year old Jonathan Padilla was riding west on West Lincoln Avenue when he collided with a northbound four door car driven by Robert Pabon 22 of Gallup at North Second Street. Pabon had the right of way and Lincoln Street has a stop sign at the intersection. Padilla struck the car’s right center side and was flown to UNM Hospital after initial treatment at Gallup Indian Medical Center.

Thompson still in limbo over Navajo ballot signatures
Navajo Board of Election Supervisors held a rehearing on Johnny R. Thompson's bid for the presidential primary ballot. Edison Wauneka said staff will review transcripts and tapes to resolve inconsistencies between Thompson and witnesses. Five off duty Gallup cops in barroom brawl
Off duty Gallup city officers were involved in a bar fight at El Dorado Restaurant Lounge around 1 40 am last Wednesday. Police released names of three of ten believed involved and said no weapons were used. No arrests or civil actions yet. Witnesses described a chaotic scene with bleeding noses and a woman in the opposing group. The confrontation began at Shalimar Restaurant & Lounge.

Gasoline prices rise nationwide in two week span
Nationwide average gas price climbed over two cents in two weeks to 118.4 cents per gallon. Trilby Lundberg of the Lundberg Survey said prices at self service pumps averaged 111.60 cents for regular, 112.16 for mid grade, 130.56 for premium, and 114.66 for leaded. full service prices were higher with regular at 145.13 cents and premium at 160.97 cents.
