NM Graduation rates rise across districts in 2009
State education officials report that New Mexico districts graduated 66.1 percent of students in 2009, up from 60.3 percent in 2008. Grants-Cibola and Zuni saw dramatic gains over 40 percent, while Gallup-McKinley rose about 6 percent. Secretary Veronica Garcia praised the trend and stressed keeping students in school.

Window Rock 4 H program faces funding cuts and unsafe facilities
The Federally Recognized Tribes Extension Program supporting Window Rock 4-H may end Sept 30 without new federal funding. Navajo Nation Fairgrounds facilities are in disrepair and could threaten youth safety.
