Fire damages vacant house in arson suspected blaze
A vacant house at 155 E Sul livan was set ablaze Thursday night causing an estimated 1500 in damage. Firefighters arrived at 11 30 p m and battled the flames for about 45 minutes. The structure is owned by the New Mexico Highway Department.

Navajo ESL Workshop At Wingate High School
The two week ESL workshop at Wingate High School trained about 900 teachers and administrators in English as a New Language for Navajo students. Leaders included UC Los Angeles linguists Drs. Damage Suit Starts Monday in Gallup District Court
A jury trial begins Monday in Gallup district court over a $5,566.15 suit by Gilbert Jaramillo and Monarchy Insurance Co. against the city of Gallup and Southern Union Gas Co. They allege a city garbage truck struck a gas meter Aug. 24, 1965, causing a gas leak and an explosion that damaged the Jaramillo home at 506 West Maloney.

Two Men Plead Guilty in Burglary and Auto Theft
Two defendants pled guilty before Judge Lidia Rai baldi. Jerry Hart, 19, Lincoln, burglary, and Benjamin Henry Holgan, 24, Tabat chi, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, were bound over for district court. Hart was linked to a store burglary at Side Gallup Surplus on June 18 with a store watch recovered. Holgan allegedly stole a pickup from Frank Caviggia on June 19. Bond set at $1,000 for each.
