Fort Defiance man jailed for unborn child death
Fernando Woody, 28, of Fort Defiance, was sentenced on June 16 by U S District Judge Neil V Wake to 10 years in federal prison for voluntary manslaughter followed by three years supervised release. He pleaded guilty March 17 admitting he kicked the mother of his child in the stomach while wearing boots causing the unborn child to suffer a skull fracture and die in utero.
