Navajo Nation Plans July Fourth Rodeo Funds to Cover Entertainment
WINDOW ROCK Ariz A Navajo Nation Resources Committee approved two rodeo contracts totaling 45000 to cover most July 4th weekend entertainment costs. Navajo Fair officials say 65000 more is needed for maintenance and sanitation, with funds tight due to budget cutbacks. Watchman notes past practices used fair money, but officials now avoid that to prevent future deficits. He cites 105000 available for fireworks and entertainment and calls for outside funding to prevent future shortfalls.
