Gallup police released composite sketches Friday of two men wanted for questioning in connection with an armed robbery at Gilbert Ortega's jewelry store. Deputies say the pair robbed the shop at gunpoint and fled with jewelry and an undisclosed cash amount.
Motions to keep Kirt Darner’s possession transport and sale of elk and possession of two endangered sheep skulls were denied by 13th Judicial District Judge Camille Martinez Olguin. Trial scheduled for Monday in Grants district court after no motions filed since May. Darner was indicted in February 2006 on 20 counts including receiving stolen property elk and sheep skulls, unlawful possession of big game, transportation of stolen livestock, conspiracy to transport live stock, failure to submit an invoice for sale of big game, lack of two forms of identification, and missing health certificates.
