Gallup credit union robber arrested suspect identified

Police linked a Trinidad man known as Payment to multiple bank robberies including the Gallup New Mexico credit union heist. Detectives used security footage, a photo print, and witness descriptions to identify him as the suspect, aided by cooperation with First American Great Union and Sunwest. The man is described as about 6 feet tall, athletic, with a cleft chin and distinctive nose. He typically wore a pret style outfit and carried a black mace hidden in his sleeve.

Body of missing man identified near Red Lake home

Sonny Manygoats, 57, identified by family as the missing man found at 5 15 p m Thursday on Hopi Partitioned Land half a mile from Red Lake. Navajo Nation Police and Fire Department teams and Kaibeto Red Lake volunteers found him under a tree after a heavy snowstorm. Officials say exposure and alcohol likely caused his death. Grants Wild West Rodeo Daze kickoff announced

Grants Rodeo Association and Grants/Cibola County Chamber of Commerce prepare for the 71st Grants Rodeo and Wild West Days. Mayor Snodgrass proclaims June 23 to July 6 Rodeo Daze and urges western dress as crowds of up to 15 thousand are expected for events starting July 4 with 50 bullriders daily and a Sunday Junior Rodeo. Man shoots himself after police standoff

Four hours of negotiations failed when a man accused of shooting another turned the gun on himself during a Navajo Nation Police operation. Williams Williams, 29, allegedly shot Joe Kee Sr. in the chest and later killed himself, with Kee transported in critical condition to Flagstaff Medical Center. The incident is under investigation by the Colonial Investigation Services.
