Gallup McKinley County Education Board approves contract
After over 100 hours of negotiations the Gallup McKinley County Board of Education and the McKinley County Federation of United School Employees approved a collective bargaining agreement for blue collar workers. The pact covers custodial, food service, receiving and delivery and transportation staff with terms on leaves, absenteeism, tardiness, transfers, vacancies, promotions, discipline, and potential layoffs. Martinez said the members ratified the agreement Thursday and the board approved it Monday after an executive session.

St Johns Arizona may host a yearround tomato crop in a planned Ridgeway Industries project. Ridgeway, a Canadian firm, hired US Petroleum Services of Boise to prepare a feasibility study and preliminary engineering for an Industrial Agri Park to be located 12 miles long on 32,000 acres using carbon dioxide from an adjacent gas field. Eric Thoraithn, Ridgeway VP, will assist in the project as plans move forward over the next thirty years.
