Former sheriff Bass goes on trial for marijuana conspiracy
Former McKinley County Sheriff Harold Bass of Thoreau faces a four day district court trial starting Monday at 9 a.m. on charges of conspiracy and marijuana distribution. The case stems from a state police and customs seizure of a loaded light plane near Thoreau two years ago. Albert Marsh of Gallup and Gilbert Delgado of Albuquerque are also charged, with Marsh set for August 10 and Delgado for August 19. Judge James Musgrove of Aztec will preside.
