FALLS CHURCH VA UNC plans sale of UNC Plateau Mining Co to Getty Oil Co for 80 million with closing expected by end of July. Current mine operations to continue under present management and workforce. Plateau, a UNC subsidiary, runs a coal mine in the Wasatch field about 100 miles southeast of Salt Lake City with over 60 million tons in place.

Miller warns more resignations could come before September though shortages ease with better salaries and new high schools under construction at Tohatchi and Thoreau.
