U S Attorney Announces Navajo Man Sentenced For Armed Assault

Elvis Pete of the Navajo Nation was sentenced after pleading guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon and carrying, use of a firearm to facilitate a crime of violence. He fired at Wilfred Buck Sr during a land dispute on December 3, 1994. Pete received 90 months in prison and three years supervised release, plus $1,592 restitution to Buck.
