The Senate approved a pay rise to 69 800 dollars but caps outside speaking fees at 20 940 dollars, producing a net pay cut for Sen. Pete Domenici who chairs the Budget Committee. Domenici opposed the raise, while Sen. Jeff Bingaman backed it with a condition on honoraria. The measure excludes investment income.
A second suspect, Daniel Eugene Stone also known as Daniel Eugene Dykeman, 24, was arrested in Los Angeles on a murder charge tied to Eyner Robert Jensen.
