Four killed in area highways crash week long

Four people died when struck by tractor truck rigs on area highways this week. Helena Baum 32 of Gallup Solomon Enrike 22 of Crownpoint Michael Pease 8 and Edward Reilly 60 were all killed in separate incidents near Gallup along I 40 and US 666. Pease and Reilly were near a camper on the I 40 shoulder. Baum died on US 666 north of Gallup and Enrike was hit on I 40 east of Gallup. Police say the truck drivers attempted evasive action but could not avoid impact.

Five Inning Navajo Softball Tilt Ends in 24-12 Delegates Win

In Fort Defiance Arizona a lighthearted tribal softball game pitted the Navajo chairman's office KTNN and directors against council delegates and tribal staff. The chairman's squad led 7-0 but the delegates surged to a 24-12 five-inning victory behind hits, base-running and standout plays.
