Board not at fault in sex case say administrator and teacher

Officials break ground for new Gallup school

Gallup officials marked the start of construction on a $20 million Gallup High School site south of U.S. 66, after years of delays and local opposition over land choice and flood concerns. District Superintendent Ramon Vigil and Gallup-McKinley County Board of Education President Priscilla Smith spoke, thanking the community and expressing hope for a smooth project and early opening.

UNM Gallup names new campus director Carlson

University of New Mexico officials announced Dr. Robert Carlson as the new UNM Gallup Campus director. He will begin Aug 15, replacing retiring longtime head Dr. John Phillips, who will delay retirement to Sept. 8, 1994. Carlson comes from San Diego Community College District with a plan to listen first and craft a shared vision for the campus.
