Slaying at Fifth Street and Aztec Avenue Linked to Baker Case
Testimony from two Church Rock youths places Baker and four companions at an abandoned garage on Fifth Street and Aztec Avenue the night of May 15 where a Zuni man was killed. A Gallup officer testified that he found the victim with a throat wound and a woman present. Witnesses described Baker brandsishing a knife and declaring he cut the man’s skin. The youths then left for a motel as investigators pursued the case. Attorneys argued over murder degrees proving premeditation. judge Rainaldi ruled probable cause to bind Baker over for trial.
