Strike at Plains Electric Plant Halts Work Near Prewitt

About 800 workers idled as a wildcat strike over the firing of Arthur Chavez paralyzed construction at the coal fired plant near Prewitt. Pickets lined two gates while unions and contractors held closed talks and no rehiring decisions had been made by Thursday afternoon.

Gallup Lions Club Western Jubilee Week schedule released

Gallup hosts a multi day Jubilee Week and Rodeo from Saturday to Saturday June 19. Major items include 8.3 million for maintenance and operations and 1.4 million for capital outlay. A public hearing drew five attendees.

House approves GOP budget plan
