Dutch Rescue Storms Train and School Hostage Crisis
Dutch commandos with weapons and jets stormed a train and a school near Assen freeing most hostages. The government reported 12 wounded and said two hostages and six of thirteen terrorists were killed in two simultaneous operations twelve miles apart in the northern farm country. Premier Joop den Uyl said force was necessary to prevent further danger and new kidnapings.

Navajo Council Tables Two Tax Proposals On Statehood Path
Navajo officials say proposed tribal taxes could push toward statehood for the Navajo Reservation. The Tribal Council voted 30 to 8 to table the business activity tax and also tabled a possessory interest tax to be reconsidered at July’s summer session. The business tax would levy 5 percent of gross receipts for businesses on the reservation.

Navajo youth summer program expands arts sports and music
Twenty seven Navajo Nation recreation programs on the reservation offer swimming arts and crafts and summer games under Navajo Youth Health Physical Education and Recreation.
