Navajo police arrest man on arson charges

Navajo Law Enforcement officers captured 43 year old Sam Cody of Kayenta after responding to multiple structure fires six miles south of the U S 160 and 163 junction. Cody is suspected of burning a tool shed three corrals and two houses with another house partially burned. No injuries reported motive unclear. Cody was taken for mental evaluation and faces up to six months jail and a $500 fine.

Zuni Teens to Meet AIDS Experts at Tuesday Conference

The Teen Health Center in Zuni hosts an AIDS conference for area teens and parents Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the tribal administration building conference room. Speakers include Victoria Zunie, Randy Granger, and a representative from People Living With AIDS. The program ends with a 6 p.m. Friday concert honoring Freddie Mercury.

Navajo sawmill faces closure after logging halt
