Begaye brings cottonwood trees back from Fort Sumner
Navajo Nation Council Speaker Kelsey Begaye received five cottonwood trees from Fort Sumner this weekend during a Treaty Day visit by Council members. The trees, seedlings grown from 130 year old Bosque Redondo trees planted by Navajo captives, will be planted at each agency headquarters as a memorial. The Navajo Nation flag was presented for the monument by representatives including State Rep. Wesley L. Grau.
