Navajo Nation Marked Treaty Day With Parade and Plaque

Commissioner Robert Bennett spoke at Fort Defiance to honor Navajo progress and resilience. A 5 000 strong crowd watched a mile long parade with about 75 entrants leading to a dedication of a historical plaque near the highway to Navajo, N.M. California Man Killed in Holiday Interstate 40 Crash

Harry Josephson 55 of Santa Ana was killed when his eastbound car left Interstate 40 near Thoreau and overturned after he apparently fell asleep at the wheel. His daughter Shirley Josephson, 22, also of Santa Ana, was not injured. Josephson was thrown to the highway center before the car pinned him on the shoulder. He was dead on arrival at St. Mary’s Hospital. The body was taken to Rollie Mortuary for return to Santa Ana. The crash follows a weekend with two other injuries in Gallup area. a separate two-vehicle collision on Boardman and U.S. 66 injures several.

Inquest Today Rehoboth Man Is Found Dead South of Gallup

Frank Padilla 75 of Rehoboth was found dead Sunday morning in an arroyo south of Gallup across from the Carson Trading Post on State Road 32. An autopsy was planned. death believed from natural causes. The body was clothed except shoes and sombrero, discovered at 8:27 am. Police estimate he had been dead since Saturday. Padilla’s body was moved to Rollie Mortuary.

Blaze damages Gallup home on West Aztec Street
