Dem voters in two counties decide bids in bi county primary
In San Juan and McKinley counties voters selected Democratic and Republican candidates for state senate and house seats as well as county offices. John Pinto won McKinley for state senate while Leo Watchman lost in McKinley but won San Juan. Other totals included David Daliego for county commission and John Bass for sheriff. In a special session the Gallup City Council approved a revised Community Development Act budget of 631000 for 1976 77. The plan funds 300000 for a downtown parking facility 200000 for the Gamerco Wash project and bridge 71000 for streets mainly in Sunshine Canyon and 60000 for administrative and planning costs. HUD clearance prompted removing pool expansion and landlit upgrades.

Navajo Bid To Buy BLM Land Delayed For Environmental Review
U S Interior Secretary Thomas Kleppe postponed action on the Navajo Nation's bid to buy 250000 acres of Bureau of Land Management land in House Rock Valley and Paria Plateau near the Grand Canyon.
