Man pleads guilty in Zuni killing case
Lolando Nez, 33, of Vanderwagen, admitted guilty to voluntary manslaughter in a fatal May 2 altercation on the Navajo Reservation with Ethan Wemutewa, a Pueblo of Zuni member. Nez, in federal custody since Aug. 5, faces up to 15 years at sentencing. No plea agreement. The incident followed an assault reported May 1 and led to Wemutewa's death the next day.

A Gallup man pleaded guilty in the Judicial District Court to second degree trafficking of a controlled substance. Daniel Hausner of Illinois was arrested in November 2008 by agents of the Middle Rio Grande Valley Task Force. Sentencing date not yet set.
