Grantsman driver charged after traffic stop incident
Grantsman, 18 year old Marcos Maestas of 936 El Nido, allegedly drove with a revoked license. Police stopped him at First Street Cafe on West Santa Fe Avenue around 10 50 p.m. Jan 2. He fled from officers and attempted to restart a car, leading to three felony charges and two misdemeanor counts after a struggle with police.

Propane heater fire gutts trailer on Hasler Valley Road
A Monday morning blaze gutted a trailer at 92B Hasler Valley Road when a knocked over propane heater ignited. Fire crews from Gallup and McKinley County responded at 8:46 a.m. and brought the flames under control within minutes. Ronald Lee and Merlinda Begay escaped. Damages estimated at 20 30 thousand dollars.
