Thoreau stabber's close friend hangs herself
A 15 year old Pre witt girl, LeeAnn Lynn Peterson, was found dead by hanging in her bedroom closet in Gallup. Police say she was a close friend of Delphine Dennison who faces felony charges for allegedly stabbing a teacher at Thoreau High School.

Gallup firefighters battled a Tuesday afternoon blaze at a garage at 52B West 66th Avenue. The fire, ruled accidental, started when heater flames ignited fumes from paint cans and spray paint supplies stored in the garage, which housed three cars. Dorian Rios rented the garage from Judith Rios.

Snow Closes Sections of I-40 and Halts Traffic
A Monday night snowstorm left New Mexico roads treacherous with 1-40 hardpacked snow from five miles east of Gallup to ten miles west of Albuquerque. Crews worked continuously but plowing areas quickly led to reaccumulation. Overnight accumulations included four inches in Grants, inches in Ramah, and an inch at Gallup Airport. Traffic crawled at 55-65 mph despite a 75 mph limit. wind and flurries added danger.

Milan Man Continues Christmas Light Tradition
