Shiprock man charged with murder in federal case
A 25-year-old Shiprock man, Gary Begay, is charged with federal murder in the shooting death of 28-year-old Allen Ashike in Shiprock. Begay was to appear before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Albuquerque on Monday as FBI and Navajo Nation investigators responded to the scene Friday morning. Ashike, from Shiprock, was found dead inside a residence after being shot multiple times.
