Ramah youth dies in Crownpoint jail detention center
Darrel R Greyeyes 21 of Ramah died in Crownpoint Detention Center on December 8 while in custody after being jailed for public intoxication. Authorities say an autopsy ordered by the Office of the Medical Investigator is pending final results, with determinations yet to be released. Fire kills tribal elder near Hunters Point
An 80 year old Navajo woman Annie Long Begay and her cat died when a hogan burned Friday morning seven miles east of Hunters Point Arizona. Police say the cause is undetermined and Begay, who lived alone, appeared trapped inside as the hogan burned down. A new hogan nearby was said to have been built but she refused to move. Begay was apparently disabled and may have had difficulty escaping.
